Job Overview
Baristas are responsible for providing customers with quality service, beverages, and in-house products with product knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion!
Job responsibilities
- Welcomes all guests by determining their coffee interests and needs.
- Educates guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions.
- Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks.
- Follows all cash management and cash register policies and ensures proper cash management practices are followed by shift team.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Serve food & beverage items as ordered in a timely fashion.
- Comply and action all health, food safety and hygiene standards and policies
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of coffee is an asset.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Positive attitude and excellent customer-oriented approach.
- Team player – assist in a positive guest experience however necessary.
- Strong attention to detail.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position works in extreme temperatures- hot and cold and requires standing for up to 8 hours per shift, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position also requires lifting to 25lbs from floor to waist, and waist to shoulder. This position also requires twisting, turning, and reaching.
