Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant/Technician to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in supporting pharmacists and ensuring the efficient delivery of patient care within a hospital or pharmacy setting. Prior experience in hospital pharmacy or pharmacy technician roles is highly desirable, along with a solid understanding of medical terminology and medication administration processes.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory, including stocking shelves and verifying medication supplies
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under supervision
- Prepare prescription labels and ensure proper documentation of medication records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy workspace
- Support medication administration procedures as directed by healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes
Experience
- Prior hospital experience or pharmacy technician experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and healthcare
- Experience in patient care activities within a clinical setting is advantageous
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and safety standards
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Certification as a pharmacy technician is a plus but not mandatory for all roles
