Role Overview
This is a maintenance role that perfectly blends precision industrial pipefitting with the opportunity to utilize and master specialized, high-tech field equipment during critical maintenance windows. As a Journeyperson Pipefitter, you will provide customers with advanced maintenance solutions, project execution, and heat exchanger/area cooler re-tubing services, while utilizing advanced hydraulic bundle pulling systems. This position is strictly focused on ongoing facility maintenance (no new construction). You will ensure all work complies with applicable codes, blueprints, and safety standards while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary crews and supervisors to complete projects safely and on time.

Regions Warco Works
While based out of Bonnyville, you will travel to projects Alberta-wide and Sask-wide, including regular jobs in Calgary, Fort McMurray, North Battleford, and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs to layout, assemble, measure, cut, fit, maintain, and repair high-pressure piping systems.
- Safely isolate shell-and-tube heat exchangers, unbolt heavy piping flanges, remove channel heads, install blanks/blinds, and roll tubes into tubesheets.
- Focus exclusively on maintenance, repair, and turnaround work specifically surrounding heat exchangers and area coolers.
- Incorporate advanced field skills by utilizing and operating specialized hydraulic bundle pulling equipment (aerial or truck-mounted) to safely extract and reinstall massive industrial tube bundles.
- Perform precise rigging, slinging, and crane signaling to move heavy exchanger components. Utilize technical bolting equipment, including Hy-Torque and tensioning systems.
- Inspect existing systems, troubleshoot leaks/failures, reassemble exchangers with new gaskets, torque flanges to exact specifications, and perform hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure tests.
- Maintain tools and equipment, complete required field documentation, and strictly follow Warco safety policies and procedures at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid Journeyperson / Red Seal Steamfitter-Pipefitter certification.
- Prior hands-on experience with Heat Exchangers, Area Coolers, and Re-Tubing is highly preferred.
- Experience with, or a strong willingness to learn, specialized hydraulic bundle pulling equipment is considered a major asset.
- Hands-on experience with technical bolting (Hy-Torque and Tensioning equipment).
- Valid safety tickets: CSO, First Aid, and H2S Alive.
- Hoisting and Rigging, Confined Space Entry, and Fall Protection certifications are considered strong assets.
- Strong ability to read and interpret industrial drawings and blueprints.
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol testing.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract and the ability to travel to and from worksites/housing.
- Capable of working in physically demanding conditions, including regular heavy lifting (50+ lbs), working at heights, entering confined spaces, and working in varying outdoor weather conditions.
- A strong, reliable work ethic with a reputation for being punctual and dependable.
