Machine Tool Sales Representative

We are looking for a strategist Machine Tool Sales Representative to join our BC team and help us continue growing our presence in Western Canada’s Manufacturing industry.
To be successful in this position, you have to be a notch above the rest and will be able to deliver on the following:
- Build strong and long term relationships with existing customers while actively developing new accounts and opportunities.
- Become a trusted resource for your customers by understanding their businesses, applications, challenges, and future equipment requirements.
- Identify opportunities where new machine tool technology can improve productivity, capacity, quality, automation, or manufacturing costs.
- Consistently generate new leads and develop those opportunities into machine tool sales.
- Conduct pre-sales analysis to understand customer applications and recommend appropriate equipment and solutions.
- Present machine tool technologies, capabilities, features, and benefits to customers.
- Coordinate product demonstrations and work with our suppliers, applications specialists, service team, and other Thomas Skinner resources throughout the sales process.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations while maintaining accurate details throughout the sales cycle.
- Use our CRM system to manage opportunities, customer activity, target accounts, follow-ups, and sales progress.
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and effectively manage multiple opportunities at different stages of the sales process.
- Work closely with our internal teams to help ensure equipment is properly ordered, delivered, installed, and supported.
- Stay current on machine tool technology, automation, manufacturing trends, and competitive products.
- Take ownership of the details surrounding every sale so that our customers receive the level of service and support they expect from Thomas Skinner.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Machine tool sales experience preferred; however, candidates with strong capital equipment or industrial sales experience will be considered.
- Strong sales, prospecting, negotiation, and closing abilities.
- A demonstrated ability to develop new business and build long-term customer relationships.
- Strong technical aptitude and an interest in manufacturing technology.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
- The ability to manage a territory and sales pipeline independently.
- Strong computer skills and experience working with CRM software.
- A self-motivated, competitive, and results-driven approach.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
