Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to join our healthcare team in. This role involves providing high-quality patient care, supporting nursing staff, and assisting with daily activities to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients. Bilingual proficiency in English and French is preferred to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient conditions accurately
- Support nursing staff with medication administration under supervision
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Document patient care activities using electronic health records and other documentation tools
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures
- Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients during their stay or treatment
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and basic computer operation skills
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and acute care procedures
- Excellent communication skills in both English and French (bilingual preferred)
- Ability to operate medical equipment safely and efficiently
- Exceptional patient care skills with a focus on compassion and empathy
- Good organizational skills with effective time management abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols (training provided if necessary)
