The Accounting Technician position is responsible for ensuring the daily accounting tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner. This role supports the CFO and the VP of Operations and provides backup to the other accounting staff within our head office located in Calgary Alberta.
This role responds to inquiries from Senior Management to ensure accurate information is available for decision making. The role includes tasks related to payroll entry and employee changes and assists in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting for the group of companies. This role enters and reviews accounting postings generated by our proprietary software and ensures the information is accurately translated into our accounting software from all departments.
The Accounting Technician is a self-motivated, detail-oriented person that is willing to be responsible for a variety of tasks and is looking to develop a deep understanding of the industry and Unique Scaffold Inc’s operations. Identifying areas of process improvement and communication improvement with our operations throughout Alberta and Canada.

Key Functions:
- Facilitate the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
- Prepare accounting entries for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other accounting areas.
- Assist in cash management and month-end reporting tasks.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and identify areas of improvement to strengthen communication.
- Support the admin team to foster a positive workplace.
Your Skillset:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is considered a strong asset.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in an accounting or administrative position that involved accounting tasks.
- Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in accounting software including Quickbooks, Great Plains, MYOB, Simply Accounting or related software.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time and meet internal deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
