About KIDORCA
KIDORCA is a Canadian kidswear brand creating elevated, functional clothing for families who travel and explore with their children.
We believe childhood should be filled with movement, imagination, muddy puddles, airport adventures, and outdoor exploration. As a family-run business, we design products that support real family life and help children experience the world beyond screens.
About the Role
We are looking for a Designer & Production Specialist who genuinely loves children's brands and wants to help shape the future of KIDORCA.
This role is ideal for someone who is both creative and highly organized — someone who can dream up a collection, illustrate it, develop it, and see it through production.
We are not looking for someone who simply edits existing artwork or purchases ready-made prints. We are looking for a designer who can create original concepts and illustrations from scratch and bring them to life in real products.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollection Design & Illustration
- Develop seasonal kidswear collections aligned with KIDORCA's aesthetic and values.
- Create original illustrations, graphics, and surface patterns using Procreate.
- Design custom prints and artwork from scratch for children's apparel.
- Build cohesive colour stories and collection themes.
- Create apparel flats and technical sketches.
- Select fabrics, trims, colours, and finishes suitable for children's products.
- Research trends while maintaining KIDORCA's timeless, elevated aesthetic.
- Balance beauty, comfort, function, and durability in every design decision.
Production & Product Development
- Communicate with overseas manufacturers through email.
- Prepare clear development briefs and technical instructions.
- Coordinate the sampling process and revisions.
- Review measurements, fitting comments, and sample quality.
- Participate in fittings and help refine garment fit and functionality.
- Follow up with factories regarding timelines and approvals.
- Monitor production progress to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure the final product accurately reflects the approved design vision.
Please note: Our manufacturing partners complete the factory-level technical development and production process. Your role is to communicate design intent clearly, oversee development, and maintain quality and consistency from concept to production.
Brand & Visual Support
- Design catalogues, brochures, and product presentations.
- Create layouts and visual assets for Instagram and marketing materials.
- Support the overall visual direction of the brand.
- Help maintain a cohesive and premium brand identity across all customer touchpoints.

We're looking for someone who:

- Understands garment construction and fit.
- Is highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Is comfortable communicating with manufacturers.
- Enjoys taking ownership and seeing projects through from beginning to end.
- Thrives in a small business environment where no two days look exactly the same.

- Commission is calculated monthly and paid through payroll.

Why Join KIDORCA
At KIDORCA, your ideas won't sit in a folder.
You'll see them become real products worn by children exploring forests, boarding airplanes, splashing through puddles, and making memories with their families.
We're looking for someone who doesn't just design clothes.
