Excavator Operator (Civil / Earthworks)
Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced excavator operator for civil / earthworks projects located in Edmonton and area. We do rehabilitation work allowing us to be less weather dependant and have less downtime due to weather.
Hourly Wage: $38-$42
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Finish / detailed excavation scopes
- Loading trucks
- Site prep for utility installation
- Adherence to legislation for excavation and trenching requirements
- Lower materials to pipe crews using proper rigging mechanisms and procedures
- Operate equipment in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment
- Ensure work is always done safely, to the highest quality standard while maintaining strong production
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program
- Daily equipment inspections and maintenance
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a finish operator
- Municipal underground utility experience is an asset
- Exceptionally safety conscious
- Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent / foreman
- Ability to operate other equipment is an asset
- Strong communication skills
Required Certifications:
- Ground Disturbance Level 2 (required)
- CSTS 2020 (required)
- WHMIS 2015 (required)
