Boutique Dog Daycare, Boarding & Grooming
We are looking for a warm, polished, highly organized Receptionist & Client Experience Coordinator to become the face of our growing boutique pet care facility.
We aren’t looking for someone who simply sits behind a desk and answers the phone. We want someone who genuinely enjoys people, LOVES dogs, takes pride in creating a beautiful client experience, and understands that the little details matter.
Our goal is to provide pet care that feels personal, professional, welcoming, and elevated — from remembering a dog’s name when they walk through the door to making sure every client leaves feeling confident that their pup is genuinely known and cared for.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome clients and their dogs warmly and professionally
- Learn and remember our regular clients, their dogs, and their individual preferences
- Answer phone calls, emails, Facebook messages, and booking inquiries
- Schedule daycare, boarding, grooming, walks, and other services
- Assist new clients through our onboarding and meet-and-greet process
- Explain our services, packages, policies, and pricing confidently
- Follow up with prospective clients and help turn inquiries into bookings
- Process payments and maintain accurate client accounts
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, stocked, and presentation-ready
- Prepare welcome packages, boarding gifts, report cards, and other client touches
- Communicate clearly with daycare and grooming staff regarding arrivals, departures, special instructions, and client requests
- Help maintain the polished, boutique atmosphere we want clients to experience
- Assist with occasional social media, promotions, client follow-ups, and retention initiatives
- Handle client concerns professionally and know when something should be escalated to management
Who We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit if you are:
- Naturally friendly and comfortable talking to new people
- Professional without being stiff or overly corporate
- Extremely organized and good at keeping track of details
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Confident answering questions and recommending services
- Able to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and in writing
- Comfortable around dogs of all sizes and breeds
- Someone who notices when something looks messy, feels unfinished, or could be improved - and takes initiative
- Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Able to stay composed when several clients, dogs, phones, and staff members need attention at once
- Genuinely interested in creating an exceptional customer experience
Experience in reception, hospitality, hotels, salons, veterinary clinics, retail, customer service, or pet care is an asset, but personality, professionalism, and attention to detail are extremely important to us.
The Experience We Want to Create
We want clients to feel like they are dropping their dog off somewhere special.
Our facility is intentionally moving toward a more boutique, premium style of pet care - personalized service, beautiful presentation, thoughtful touches, strong communication, and dogs who are treated as individuals rather than numbers.
The right person for this position will understand that premium service often comes down to small things: greeting someone by name, noticing what they need before they ask, remembering their dog’s personality, keeping the front desk immaculate, and making every interaction feel genuine.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who loves dogs and enjoys working with people. This is a client-facing hospitality role within a pet care environment
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 per week

Application question(s):
- Our goal is to create an upscale, boutique experience without feeling pretentious. What do you think that should look and feel like for a customer?
- Please rewrite this as a professional client response: Yes, we have room Friday, what time are you dropping him off?
- Are you comfortable working in a busy environment where phones, clients, staff, and dogs may all need your attention at the same time?
- You are working at the front desk when a new client sends the following message:
“Hi! I’m looking for somewhere for my dog, Murphy, to go for daycare once or twice a week. He’s never been to daycare before and I’m a little nervous about leaving him. Can you tell me how it works and what I need to do to get him started?”
Please write the response you would send to this client.
There is no specific script we're looking for. We want to see how you naturally communicate with a potential client and how you would make them feel welcomed, comfortable, and excited about choosing our facility.
Bonus: What would your next step be if the client read your response but didn't book?
- How comfortable are you around dogs of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels?
- Do you have previous experience in reception, customer service, hospitality, retail, veterinary care, grooming, or another client-facing role?
- How comfortable are you answering phones, responding to messages, taking payments, and discussing prices or services with clients?
