Linde Canada Inc.
Maintenance Lead (full time)
Edmonton, AB, Canada | req29758
This position is responsible for performing day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance activities, while also supporting the coordination and oversight of routine and major maintenance work at the Edmonton and Sarnia LSCI facilities. Acting as a key point of contact between Operations, maintenance personnel, and engineering, the role helps prioritize, schedule, and execute work notifications to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The position also contributes to reliability programs, supports cost management objectives, and ensures compliance with quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
What you will enjoy doing*
- A big part of this role is hands-on maintenance—you’d be doing preventive work and troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment to keep everything running smoothly
-
You’d be responsible for quickly diagnosing issues and making repairs to minimize downtime
-
Day to day, you’ll be using a variety of tools and following safety procedures and standard operating practices on site
-
You’ll also get involved in root cause analysis when things go wrong and help put long-term fixes in place
-
On the coordination side, you’d help manage maintenance work orders—prioritizing, scheduling, and making sure work is completed properly
-
You’d work closely with operations and facility teams to align priorities and provide technical support when needed
-
There’s also a continuous improvement focus—tracking performance, contributing ideas, and helping improve reliability and efficiency
-
Overall, success in the role is measured by things like equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, cost control, and how well schedules and workloads are managed
What makes you great*
- You’ll need at least 5 years of hands-on maintenance and reliability experience, ideally with strong leadership exposure
-
It’s important that you’ve worked with nitrogen pumping and cryogenic equipment—this is a key part of the role
-
You should be someone who understands mechanical and hydraulic systems really well and can troubleshoot issues confidently
-
Strong communication and people skills are key, since you’ll be working across teams and influencing decisions
-
You’ll need to be comfortable working independently—this role has a lot of autonomy and you won’t need much day-to-day approval
-
From a technical side, experience with root cause analysis, work planning, and general computer tools like Microsoft Office is important
-
It’s a physically active role—you’ll be lifting, climbing, and working in tight or awkward spaces at times
-
There’s some flexibility required too, including extended hours, occasional weekends/holidays, and being part of an on-call rotation
