The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team as Service Shop Foreman.
This role is ideal for a technician with strong diagnostic and engine expertise who is looking to take the next step into a leadership position while remaining actively involved in the shop. The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource for the team, support shop operations, and play a key role in mentoring and developing apprentices and technicians.
What Will You Do?
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to technicians and apprentices
- Support diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines
- Serve as the primary technical resource for complex engine, drivability, electrical, and aftertreatment concerns
- Mentor apprentices and less experienced technicians through hands-on training and coaching
- Monitor shop productivity and workflow, helping ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Work closely with the Service Manager to identify and address operational challenges that impact shop performance
- Review repairs and diagnostics to support quality workmanship and consistent repair processes
- Complete repairs and diagnostics as required while leading by example on the shop floor
- Promote a safe, professional, and team-oriented work environment
