The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of local Indigenous communities. They must have demonstrated experience in applying Indigenous knowledge in a professional setting, adhering to cultural protocols, and working with a culturally safe approach. Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) Calls to Action and a commitment to advancing reconciliation are essential.
This position is full-time, permanent position that works:
- Monday- Friday 8-10 hours with weekends on call;
- $25-$30/hour based on experience; OT as per applicable BC Legislation;
- Company Vehicle and Tools provided;
- Will report to Camp Maintenance Supervisor;
- Camp is optional;

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and labour duties to support the safe and efficient operation of camp facilities.
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair water systems, sewer and septic systems, plumbing, and camp equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections to identify and address maintenance issues before failures occur.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of electrical systems, lighting, fixtures, and related equipment within the scope of training and qualifications.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain small equipment, power tools, and machinery required for maintenance and construction activities.
- Complete basic carpentry tasks, including construction, repairs, renovations, and maintenance of camp buildings, structures, and fixtures.
- Prepare surfaces and perform painting, staining, and finishing work on buildings, equipment, and other camp assets.
- Safely operate, move, position, and maintain trailers and related equipment while conducting required inspections and ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
- Assist with facility upgrades, repairs, construction projects, and seasonal maintenance activities.
- Maintain grounds, buildings, accommodations, common areas, and camp infrastructure to ensure a clean, safe, and professional environment.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, environmental regulations, and operational standards.
- Use and maintain tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in a safe and responsible manner.
- Respond to maintenance requests, emergencies, and operational needs in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment usage.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks and support overall camp operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications:
- Class 5 drivers’ licence is a requirement;
- Camp experience is an asset;
- Passing an alcohol and drug test is a condition of employment;
