Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our long-term care home located 10 minutes south of Saskatoon. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a long-term care home or healthcare food service setting, a strong understanding of food safety, and a passion for preparing nutritious meals for seniors.
This position requires 11-hour shifts, weekend availability, and candidates must be based in/around the Saskatoon area.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to residents' dietary needs and prescribed food textures.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with meal preparation and kitchen organization.
- Ensure meals are served accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen.
- Assist with inventory and support other kitchen staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of food safety and dietary requirements.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Experience working in a long-term care or healthcare food service environment is preferred.
- Availability to work 11-hour shifts, including weekends.
- Food Handler Certification (Food Safe, SafeCheck, or equivalent) is mandatory.
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check is required prior to employment.
