About the Role
We’re looking for an exceptional Chef de Cuisine to lead the opening of our newest restaurant this fall.
This is a rare opportunity to build a kitchen from the ground up alongside an experienced leadership team. From hiring and training the opening crew to helping shape systems, culture, and daily operations, you’ll play a key role in creating a restaurant that sets the standard for hospitality and culinary excellence.
We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on leader who thrives in high-performance kitchens and takes pride in mentoring teams, executing exceptional food, and delivering unforgettable guest experiences.
You will work closely with the Culinary Director and General Manager to bring the restaurant to life and establish a kitchen culture built on professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Lead the opening and day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop the opening kitchen team.
- Lead service from the front, setting the standard every shift.
- Ensure consistency in recipes, plating, quality, and execution.
- Manage food cost, inventory, ordering, and labour performance.
- Build schedules and maintain labour targets.
- Create a positive, organized, and respectful kitchen culture.
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and organization.
- Work alongside the Culinary Director during menu implementation and future menu development.
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- Continuously coach and develop Sous Chefs and line cooks.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Executive Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or similar role in fine dining or upscale casual restaurants.
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing people.
- Excellent culinary technique and attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of food costing, inventory management, labour control, and kitchen operations.
- Calm under pressure with the ability to lead busy services.
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
- Passion for building systems, creating culture, and opening new restaurants.
