Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to support our pharmacy team in providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will assist with medication dispensing, inventory management, and patient interactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations. Prior hospital or pharmacy technician experience is highly valued, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration. Duties
- Assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately
- Manage inventory levels, restock supplies, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under supervision
- Maintain detailed records of medication distribution and patient interactions
- Verify prescriptions for completeness and accuracy in accordance with medical orders
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and documentation updates
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Stay informed about new medications, procedures, and pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospital or pharmacy technician roles is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and data entry
- Certification or training as a pharmacy technician is a plus but not mandatory
