Job Summary
We are seeking experienced and reliable Brick and Stone Masons, Tile Layers, along with Helper Labourers, to join our construction team in. This role involves working on residential, commercial, and restoration projects, utilizing a variety of masonry and tiling techniques. The ideal candidates will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality craftsmanship while developing your skills in construction and masonry.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, stones, tiles, and other masonry materials according to project specifications and blueprints
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate installation
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying caulking or other adhesives as needed
- Assist with renovation and restoration projects by removing old materials and installing new masonry elements
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Support senior masons with material handling, mixing mortar, and other labor-intensive tasks
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, etc.
- Experience with construction, masonry, or tiling projects is highly preferred
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics for precise installation
- Familiarity with renovation and restoration techniques
- Ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary for large projects
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship skills
- Good physical stamina for lifting heavy materials and working in various environmental conditions
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and understanding project requirements
