Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Ensure the safe operation of production activities in conjunction with quality, toolroom, maintenance and delivery departments.
- Delegate and train all supervisors in all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Operating Processes
- Attend and/or coordinate production meetings to ensure all production requirements are being met
- Attend quality, engineering meetings and all other meetings as required
- Review manpower needs as required in accordance to customer releases, vacations and absenteeism
- Participate and/or chair plant continuous improvement activities
- Responsible for effectively implementing all applicable Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions within their area of responsibility, which include: Health & Safety, Quality and Production
- Responsible for reviewing the Accident/Incident/Investigation reports to ensure that the corrective actions for Prevention have been taken
- Support the Development and implementation of Plant Standards, Operating Procedures in Health & Safety and Production
- Responsible for the Training of the employees in each of their respective areas of responsibility on the Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions and ensuring all appropriate training records are completed
- Establish/maintain Housekeeping Programs for continuous improvement
- Establish/maintain Weekly Health & Safety workplace inspections and take corrective actions
- Ensure all employees adhere to the personal protective equipment requirements of the plant
- Coordinate the flow and proper handling of material and products through plants
- Establish/monitor production schedules and communicate any scheduling issues
- Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and operators are trained in the safe operation of that equipment
- Review off shift supervision
- Other duties as required
What are we looking for?
- Post-Secondary in a related field
- 10 plus years in a manufacturing environment, automotive parts - preferably in metal stamping and assembly
- Safety, quality and leadership training
- Previous first line supervision experience
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Proven leadership and team-building ability
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Interpersonal and customer relation skills
- Ability to work under a high stress and fast paced environment
- Good analytical and problem solving abilities
- Valid travelling documents ( license, passport)
