Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Landscape Labourer to join our team. This role supports landscape construction, maintenance, and seasonal operations and involves physically demanding outdoor work. The successful candidate will contribute to the completion of projects while maintaining company standards for safety, efficiency, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform landscape installation, construction, and maintenance tasks
- Assist with irrigation system installation, repairs, and maintenance
- Participate in snow removal operations, including hand shovelling and operating equipment
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment as required
- Assist with site preparation, material handling, and cleanup
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe, working condition
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and safe work practices
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Work collaboratively with crew members to meet project timelines
- Communicate professionally with supervisors and team members regarding job progress
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and repetitive motions
- Mandatory use of PPE including steel-toe boots, high-visibility apparel, gloves, eye protection, and hard hats as required
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and WorkSafeBC regulations
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- Experience operating equipment such as excavators and skid steer is an asset
- Experience operating truck and trailer
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and landscape maintenance practices is an asset
- Familiarity with gardening and basic horticulture principles
- Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or a related field is beneficial
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to follow direction
