THE ROLE

Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Specialist reviews statement of requirements and uses cases prepared by the business analysis section to ensure that the delivered automated system complies with the statements of requirements. They review functional specifications prepared by the application development section. They liaise with colleagues and other project team members to ensure that software solutions meet functional requirements. They participate in development of testing plans and strategies for software systems. They design, prepare, document and execute test cases, test scripts and checklists.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Software Development, Computer Programming or a related discipline AND several years of experience in IT QA
Experience
In software QA and testing methodologies
In reviewing statements of requirements, use cases and functional specifications
In preparing test cases
In execution of test cases
In documentation of test results
In troubleshooting software defects
In documenting and analyzing test results
In producing status reports
In systems analysis, data administration and software engineering
In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

English or French Essential, Bilingual an asset

OTHER INFORMATION
This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
