Peralta Engineering is seeking a motivated and technically capable Civil / Municipal / Development Design Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure and land development projects.

About the Role
As a Civil / Municipal / Development Design Engineer, you will contribute to projects from concept through design, approvals, tendering, and construction support. You will work closely with project managers, municipalities, clients, planners, developers, and technical specialists to develop practical and sustainable engineering solutions.
You will play an important role in delivering projects involving subdivisions, roads, drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, watermains, sanitary sewers, and site servicing infrastructure.
Beyond technical design, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support knowledge sharing across the organization, and continue building your professional engineering capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering designs and drawings for municipal infrastructure and land development projects.
- Develop grading, servicing, drainage, and stormwater management designs.
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate municipal approvals and regulatory submissions.
- Work closely with municipalities, clients, developers, and project stakeholders.
- Support tender preparation and contract documentation.
- Participate in construction administration and field review activities.
- Assist in resolving technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and practices.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- University Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum three to five years of municipal and/or development engineering design experience in Ontario.
- Experience with municipal infrastructure and land development projects.
- Understanding of municipal approvals and regulatory processes.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Working knowledge of CAD standards and procedures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence.
- Eligibility for registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
Desirable
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
- Experience with subdivisions, site plans, and municipal servicing projects.
- Experience preparing Functional Servicing Reports and Stormwater Management Reports.
- Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software.
- Experience working with Ontario municipalities and Conservation Authorities.
- Knowledge of land development approvals and planning processes.
