PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The shop foreman manages the welding and machining bays to ensure that jobs are completed to the satisfaction of the customer, while ensuring efficient and cost effective job scheduling.
SCOPE
The Shop Foreman reports directly to management and is responsible for providing assistance to customers, management, and staff members regarding job flow, and work in progress.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work in the interest of the company to gain/attain customers for the company
· Assist in job scheduling/job flow to get jobs through the shop efficiently
· Work conscientiously to improve the company’s bottom line
· Assure job deadlines are being met
· notify management and arrange with workers when overtime is required
· Assist management in ensuring employees are working and are on time for shift
· Assure tooling/supplies for jobs are available
· Assist customers, take work orders, help to resolve any issues
· Perform or delegate call-ins, take after hours calls as required
· Ensure proper training of all shop employees
· Making sure employees are working both safely and efficiently
· Assist managers on decisions such as purchases, hiring/dismissals, change in procedures
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILL
· Computer skills
· Ability to work with little direction or supervision
· Machining capabilities
· Good organizational skills
· Positive attitude/ Team Player
· Have the ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
The shop foreman should have technical skills equal or superior to that of his team. The ideal hire would have a journeyman machining background and high mechanical aptitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
