Purpose
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all maintenance activities at the site. They act as a central point between internal departments, the maintenance team, and external contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and well-synchronized execution of work.
They are responsible for tracking work orders, managing parts and orders, as well as ensuring the accuracy of data entered into the INTERAL system. The planner also plays a key role in operational communication and provides essential technical support to the team to optimize equipment reliability and ensure continuity of operations.
Main Responsibilities
Planning and coordination
- Plan, organize, and prioritize all preventive, corrective, and improvement maintenance work.
- Work closely with the supervisor to structure workload and ensure operational continuity in their absence.
- Coordinate interventions with different departments to minimize production impact.
- Plan and supervise work carried out by contractors and subcontractors (onboarding, validation of safety requirements, supervision, and follow-up of interventions).
- Ensure smooth communication between shifts to maintain continuity of operations.
- Prepare and lead shift start meetings to clarify priorities and assignments.
Technical support and operations
- Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams.
- Participate in critical interventions to ensure rapid diagnosis and effective resolution.
- Respond promptly to unexpected breakdowns and adjust planning as needed to minimize production downtime.
- Perform reliability analyses.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- Perform any other task related to asset management, operational efficiency, or support of production activities.
Administrative management and CMMS
- Manage work orders and ensure completion, quality of information, and status updates.
- Track parts, materials, and orders in collaboration with the buyer.
- Update and optimize the INTERAL system (equipment records, preventive maintenance plans, maintenance history, etc.).
- Monitor, analyze, and update department performance indicators (KPIs).
- Compile, archive, and follow up on technical reports and corrective actions.
Health, safety, and compliance
- Integrate health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements into planning and execution of work.
- Ensure all interventions comply with procedures, permits, and current safety practices.
Education & Experience
- DEC or DEP in industrial maintenance, electromechanics, or related discipline
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in an industrial environment
- Experience in maintenance management and technical problem-solving
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts applied to industry
- Bilingual French/English, required to collaborate with our English-speaking suppliers and our two other plants based in the United States
- Knowledge of the transformer industry (asset)
Technical knowledge
- Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and equipment management
- Experience with CMMS software, including INTERAL or equivalent
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools to optimize operations
- Proficient in office tools (Word, Excel) for analysis, tracking, and reporting
Skills and abilities
- Ability to quickly solve problems and propose effective technical solutions
- Expertise in root cause analysis and implementation of sustainable corrective measures
- Clear communication and leadership, with the ability to coordinate and mobilize a team
- Strong organizational skills, analytical and synthetic mindset, autonomy, and adaptability to unforeseen situations
- Change management skills to support continuous improvement and process optimization

Compensation for this position will be determined within the posted salary range based on factors such as candidate qualifications, relevant experience, internal equity, market competitiveness, skills, and certifications.
