The Old Orchard Inn is looking for team members to join our fantastic banquets department for the busy upcoming season!
Be a part of a fun and hardworking team, providing exceptional guest services during our events including tradeshows, weddings, and conferences. The ideal candidates will have food service and hospitality experience with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and food safety. While previous experience is preferred, a friendly and outgoing character will get you far and we are happy to train. This position provides the opportunity to work in a very busy and dynamic environment and build hospitality skills in a positive work environment at a well established hotel in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. This is a wage plus gratuities position.
Duties
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous and timely manner during banquets and events based on pre-organized menus.
- Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including table arrangements and serving stations
- Assist with food handling, ensuring proper food safety and sanitation practices are followed
- Replenish supplies and clear tables promptly to maintain cleanliness throughout service
- Provide attentive guest services, addressing any special requests or concerns with professionalism
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and event coordinators to ensure smooth operation of events
- Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, adhering to food safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment before, during, and after events
Skills
- Previous experience in restaurant, food industry, or hospitality settings preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor
- Ability to serve efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with food preparation and serving techniques beneficial
- Hotel or event experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- A positive attitude, teamwork orientation, and professional appearance are essential
