Petrie Ford is seeking an experienced Commercial/Heavy Truck Service Advisor for our growing and fast paced heavy truck vehicle service centre.

Petrie Ford has been Kingston’s Ford Store since 1949. The Heavy Truck service department is one of the busiest in the Eastern Corridor. We service and warranty a wide array of client vehicles, with a large and loyal client base. With the help of our massive wholesale parts warehouse operation and modern client conveniences, we have the inventory and agile service logistics that keep our client vehicle downtime to a minimum. As such, we are seeking a highly skilled service advisor who can operate at an extremely high level of organization and client care. Commercial /Heavy Truck Service Advisor’s Responsibilities
- Greeting clients promptly with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Understanding the clients’ needs by effectively listening and asking relevant questions
- Entering the client details into the database and creating work orders as needed
- Answering calls into the department and scheduling appointments
- Performing vehicle walk arounds with the client to identify other possible items of concern
- Liaising with service technicians to relay proper expectations and information to the client
- Knowing the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of every vehicle under your care and what step we are on in the service chain
- Issuing professional quotes and providing accurate information based on your years of experience
- Reaching out to prospective service clients and/or following up with existing clients who are overdue for servicing
- Handling of related administration work in a timely manner
- Knowing the service schedule intervals on any given type of Ford heavy vehicle, including service details and potential costs
- Familiar with preventative maintenance and recommending services that are in the clients’ best interest
- Driven to succeed sales goals in both revenue generated and work orders created
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills
- 2+ years of Heavy Truck service advisor experience within the auto industry
- Auto parts and servicing knowledge a must
- Strong computer skills: PBS, CRM systems, Dealer DMS systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Highly detailed and extremely organized
- Expert oral and written communicator
- Ability to interpret technical schematics, parts catalogues and diagrams
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Willing to engage in training for your own personal development within the position
- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
- Work references required
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.
A comprehensive benefit package is available after 90 days.
Salary: $50,000-$70,000 including bonuses, depending on experience.
