Duties
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on farm machinery, including tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to repair or replace components
- Conduct troubleshooting on Caterpillar or similar brand equipment to identify root causes of malfunctions
- Assist customers with technical questions and provide excellent service to ensure their equipment operates reliably
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities and maintain detailed service records
Experience
- Previous dealership experience or hands-on work with heavy machinery is highly preferred
- Familiarity with tractor, combine, hay tools or other heavy equipment is a strong asset
- Mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, or industrial equipment is desirable
- Experience reading schematics and understanding electrical systems enhances troubleshooting capabilities
- Skilled in welding, assembly work, and the use of hand tools or power tools for repairs
- Demonstrated ability to lift heavy loads safely and operate heavy equipment confidently
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
