Purpose
This role's main responsibility is to lead the Healthcare & Senior Living Sales Team in the region to achieve sustainable sales growth and profitability. The role involves enhancing operational efficiency by identifying growth opportunities with both new and existing customers. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key Healthcare & Senior Living accounts and associations is crucial for establishing a solid presence in the Healthcare market. This role will work closely with the Sysco Canada Healthcare team to support sales, chain development, marketing, and systems initiatives.
Responsibilities

Leads and manages the Healthcare & Senior Living Sales team regarding performance, priorities, development, and attaining sales goals/targets.

Assigns accounts to Contract Sales Consultants (SCs) when required in collaboration with the National Account Manager (NAM).

Communicates and presents healthcare promotions, ideas, and objectives to members of the Healthcare & Senior Living Team. Liaises between customers and manufacturers for customer samplings.

Reviews and promotes items in Foodie and Nourish newsletter. Promotes Sysco brand items and newly listed products.

Works in collaboration with Trade Management Team, reviews new items for listing along with reviewing all contracts and pricing programs to ensure pre-tax targets are being met. Educates on, promotes and leverages these resources to build business with targeted accounts.

Ensures quarterly plans for chains and bi-annual/annual objectives set out in the annual review to ensure financial targets for sales, margins and other variables are met.

Oversees and collaborates in completing proposals, tenders, and healthcare contracts for existing and new business opportunities.

Maintains and understands customer Master Distribution Agreements (MDA), Master Service Agreements (MSA) and ensures all service obligations in the agreement are fulfilled.
Supporting Responsibilities:

Supports customer business review preparation to identify opportunities and build alignment. Leads the business review discussion with the customers.

Participates in onboarding and offboarding of new customers & concepts.

Regularly attends in-person or virtual customer meetings (topic points: Sales, Ops, etc).

Reviews Short Reports.

Supports Contract - Sales Consultants with additional customer communication if required.

Assists with the implementation of new processes, procedures and tools and ensures an understanding within the team.

Reviews Accounts Receivable status with Contract - Sales Consultant.
Leadership Duties:

Recruits, hires, and develops National Account Managers to deliver exceptional service to customers and sites. Supports talent through performance coaching, and career management practices; ensures an appropriate level of functional knowledge for informed decision-making in talent development.

Establishes clear performance goals, adapting them to changing business demands, and manages performance effectively by identifying and managing non-performers promptly and fairly. Recognizes and rewards top performance through base, incentive, and recognition programs.

Provides coaching and support on fully utilizing internal Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, including Sysco 360, to manage contacts and track opportunities and results effectively.

Leads and communicates Sysco initiatives (Project Leads). Assists with the implementation of new processes, procedures and tools and ensuring understanding with team

Identifies training requirements for team as well as customers with respect to Sysco related systems.

Champions, advocates, sponsors and participates to drive employee engagement

Accountable for the accuracy of timecards, approvals and scheduling of direct reports.

Qualifications
-
Minimum three (3+) years' work experience in a sales role.

Minimum of three (3+) years' experience in a leadership capacity.

Healthcare experience in dietary, acute or long-term care is an asset.

Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in a business-related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Excellent communication skills using negotiation processes and gaining agreement of others.

Ability to express information in terms of profit and loss, food cost and expense ratio.

Strong financial acumen & ability to meticulously plan & execute business plans
