Mandarin-Speaking Caregiver for Female Senior

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mandarin-speaking Caregiver to provide personalized in-home support for an 65+ year-old female senior in the North East area (postal code T3K 4T9). The ideal candidate will be kind-hearted, patient, and genuinely caring, with a focus on enhancing the senior's quality of life through respectful and attentive assistance. Responsibilities:
- Support the senior with toileting needs and oral hygiene (e.g., rinsing mouth).
- Aid in meal preparation and feeding the senior during meals.
- Clear the table and wash dishes after meals to keep the living space tidy.
- Assist with bathing the senior, ensuring privacy, safety, and dignity throughout the process.
- Provide general companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check) to ensure safety and trustworthiness.
- Certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR (current and valid).
- Up-to-date vaccinations, including those relevant to elder care (e.g., COVID-19, flu, and any others required by Alberta Health Services).
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (Putonghua) for clear and effective communication with the senior.
- Demonstrated kindness, compassion, and patience in working with vulnerable individuals.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and assisting with mobility.
- Reliable transportation to and from the home in North East Calgary (T3K 4T9).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in caregiving, particularly with elderly or disabled individuals (e.g., home care, nursing home, or personal support worker roles).
- Additional certifications in elder care, such as Personal Support Worker (PSW) training or equivalent.
