Aero Delivery is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Officer to join our team in Saskatoon. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring the company's transportation safety and regulatory compliance programs are effectively maintained while meeting or exceeding all provincial and federal regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a strong safety culture, maintaining compliance documentation, and working collaboratively with management and drivers to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities are but not limited to:
- Implement, maintain, and monitor the company's trucking safety and compliance programs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable provincial and federal transportation regulations.
- Track, audit, and manage Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and Hours of Service records.
- Maintain Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) and other regulatory compliance records.
- Maintain driver qualification files, safety records, and training documentation.
- Maintain vehicle files, preventive maintenance records, and compliance documentation.
- Track and maintain driver licensing and vehicle registrations.
- Administer and maintain the company's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
- Conduct log audits and provide coaching, remedial training, and corrective action where required.
- Coordinate renewal of equipment registrations, licence plates, and permits.
- Maintain Long Combination Vehicle (LCV) permits and operator certifications.
- Manage IRP registrations and IFTA-related vehicle documentation.
- Assist with Human Resources functions as assigned.
- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience in trucking safety and regulatory compliance.
- Previous Class 1A driving experience is an asset
- Strong knowledge of the National Safety Code (NSC) and commercial transportation regulations.
- Experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and Hours of Service compliance through the Samsara platform is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with drivers, management, and regulatory agencies.
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
