JUNIOR ESTIMATOR / BID COORDINATOR

AFCG Construction Inc. and Concept 2 Concrete (C2C) are looking for a motivated Junior Estimator / Bid Coordinator to join our growing team in Calgary.
This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate, EIT, CET, Civil Engineering Technologist, Construction Engineering Technologist, Construction Management graduate, or an individual with 1-3 years of construction estimating experience who is looking to develop a long-term career in the construction industry.
Working directly with senior leadership, the successful candidate will assist with quantity takeoffs, estimating, bid preparation, proposal submissions, and pre-construction planning activities for a wide range of construction and engineering projects throughout Alberta and British Columbia.
What You'll Be Doing
- Performing quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications.
- Assisting with construction estimates and budgets.
- Reviewing tender documents and contract requirements.
- Coordinating subcontractor and supplier pricing requests.
- Preparing bid submissions, proposals, and prequalification packages.
- Tracking public and private tender opportunities.
- Assisting with proposal writing and bid administration.
- Supporting project managers and senior estimators during pre-construction.
- Attending site visits, walkthroughs, and pre-bid meetings as required.
- Maintaining bid logs, estimating databases, and tender records.
- Assisting with business development initiatives and opportunity tracking.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; OR
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- EIT, CET, or eligibility for registration is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Valid Alberta Driver's Licence.
Assets
- Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Procore, ConstructConnect, MERX, BC Bid, CanadaBuys, or similar platforms.
- Previous estimating, project coordination and construction experience.
- Knowledge of commercial, multifamily, restoration and design-build construction projects.
