We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Café Team Members to join our dynamic team.
At Huckleberry Cakes and Coffee, we’re more than just a café — we’re a small, passionate team creating quality bakes and great coffee for our community. This is a hands-on, team-based environment where every team member contributes to all areas of the café.

Responsibilities (Please read carefully)
- Previous café experience required (applications without experience will not be considered)
- Experience with espresso machines and specialty drinks
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages with attention to quality and presentation
- Operate POS systems and accurately handle cash and card transactions
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or concerns
- Manage time effectively to serve customers promptly during busy periods
- Assist with food handling, sanitation, and maintaining cleanliness of workstations and dining areas
- Dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining overall café cleanliness are part of the role
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards and sanitation protocols at all times
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and support sales
- Support team members in maintaining an organized and efficient workspace
This is a team-based role — responsibilities are shared across all team members and are not limited to one area (e.g., barista duties only).
Availability & Requirements:
- Available to work Sundays
- Flexible availability between 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Food Handler’s Certificate required before starting
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, food service, or cashiering preferred; restaurant experience is an asset
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Strong time management skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety standards
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Kitchen or food industry experience is an asset; willingness to learn is essential
