About People Hearing
We're a growing network of audiology and ENT clinics across Alberta, Ontario, and BC, on a mission to make hearing care simple, accessible, and life-changing. We work hard to remove the barriers of cost, complexity and confusion that stop people from hearing well.
We move fast, we care deeply, and we like working with people who do the same.
We believe better hearing isn't just about technology, it's about people, relationships, and trust. Behind every great patient experience is a business that runs cleanly and on time. That's where the Bookkeeper comes in.
About the role
This is a hands-on role for an experienced bookkeeper who can hit the ground running. You'll own the day-to-day financial operations across our clinic network — keeping our records accurate, our cash flow clear, and our team armed with numbers they can trust.
You'll report to our CFO, and work closely with the rest of our accounting, clinical and operational teams. We're looking for someone who is self-directed with enough experience to run their own desk, and works well as part of a team and communicates clearly when something needs attention.
What you'll work on
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping — recording transactions and maintaining accurate, organized financial records
- Handle accounts payable and receivable across multiple clinic locations, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Track and reconcile inventory across clinics keeping purchasing and cost records accurate
- Perform account and bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial statements
- Conduct account analysis to catch discrepancies or irregularities, and resolve them promptly
- Support budgeting by tracking expenses and preparing financial reports
- Support payroll processing with accurate data entry and compliance with relevant regulations
- Drive month-end and year-end close
- Prepare clean, clear financial reports for management review and audit purposes
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors as needed
You're a great fit if you
- Have solid bookkeeping or accounting experience and can step in and contribute from day one
- Are proficient in QuickBooks, and Xero, or similar platforms — and pick up new tools quickly
- Have a strong grip on the fundamentals: AP, AR, reconciliation, and account analysis
- Know your way around payroll processing and related compliance
- Are organized to a fault and catch the small stuff — a number off by a few cents bothers you, but know the difference between material issues that need flagging and those that dont.
- Work independently and proactively, without waiting to be told
- Communicate clearly, especially when something doesn't add up
- Can juggle multiple tasks and deadlines without dropping any
- Care about getting it right, because you know the numbers matter
Bonus points for
- Experience with multi-location or healthcare bookkeeping
- experine managing multiple organizations and cosolidation reporting
- A relevant certification or coursework in accounting or bookkeeping
- Comfort and experience building or improving reporting and close processes
