Laser Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Laser Operator will set up, operate, and monitor CNC laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts according to engineering drawings and production schedules. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines according to production requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality.
- Inspect finished products using measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
- Basic computer and machine control skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CNC programming or nesting software.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing or production environment.
- Standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Exposure to machinery, noise, and metal materials.
- May require overtime or shift work depending on production demands.
Pay: $19.00-$29.00 per hour
