Bennett Sheet Metal is looking to hire a sheet metal journeyperson or experienced apprentice for their busy shop providing service to the Comox Valley and North Island in residential and light commercial settings. We offer competitive wages and benefits.

- Valid BC driver’s license
- Experience/interest in residential installations & light commercial installations
- Motivation to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to follow instruction
- Mechanical aptitude, diagnostic instincts
- Ability to work with others or independently on assigned tasks
Job description
- Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
- Capable of installing residential & light commercial HVAC systems
- Installation of diverse heating/ventilation including; fan coils, ductwork, HRV’s, line sets from fan coils to condensing units, parkade duct work/equipment, kitchen range, bath fan, dryer duct work and air conditioning systems
- Working with heat pumps , ductless heat pumps , central air, air conditioners, air handlers
- Fabricating custom sheet metal products
- Measuring, layouts and fabricating residential HVAC duct systems
- Working within strict timelines
- Climb ladders / working at heights
- Use various power tools, lifting, general labour duties as needed
- Operate metal working machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
- Possessing the ability to utilize and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products
- Set up power equipment, cut materials using power tools or by hand
- Ensuring that efficiency is maximized while fabricating and installing HVAC
- Removal and replacement of residential and commercial HVAC equipment and systems
- Install new line sets, PVC venting and, gas piping alterations as required
- Remove and replace existing sheet metal supply and return air plenums and other duct work changes as required
- Add or alter condensate drainage
- Complete installation and start up check lists
- Provide accurate record of work performed and materials used
- Provide an exceptional customer experience with every customer interaction
- Light cleaning duties (eg: Keep shop and work areas clean and tidy)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
