Our company is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting individual for the position of Commercial Estimator. The ideal candidate for this position will have Drywall Construction experience and be able to handle multiple projects at once. The Estimator will work directly with the commercial team to estimate costs on current and future projects, and will identify changes in costs once they've been implemented.

Job Overview
The Estimators role will primarily be responsible for receiving RFP, price requests or tenders for quoting. The role will manage job file creation and work packages and maintain accurate pricing and cost databases to produce accurate cost estimates while maximizing revenues.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Receive requests for tenders, RFP or pricing requests.
- Utilizing digital takeoff software, produce accurate takeoffs.
- Utilizing digital estimating software, prepare accurate quotes and proposals.
- Follow up on tender or proposals for job awarding and feedback from clients.
- Minimizing VPO’s or extra work with constant database updating.
- Managing change order or VPO’s procurement from clients.
- Managing shop drawing submittals.
- Prepares estimate by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents with the project team.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Manage other project documentation submittals.
- Analyze historical costs to determine quality of estimates.
- Placing material orders.
- Track and monitor progress billing from subcontractors.
- Budget management.
- Costing analysis.
Skills and Experience
- Analytical skills. Accurately evaluating detailed specifications.
- Detail oriented. Attention to small details because such details may have a large impact on a overall cost.
- Technical skills. Detailed knowledge of drywall industry processes, materials, and costs.
- Time-management skills. Plan their work in advance and work efficiently and accurately.
- Drywall experience is a must have qualification.
- Experience with Sage Contractor is considered an asset.
- Experience with Plexxis / Plan Swift is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing timelines.
- A high degree of professionalism.
- Familiarity with the Alberta Building Code
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
