Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part Time Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, managing freight shipments, and ensuring efficient communication across multiple channels. Duties
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and SyteLine to schedule, track, and coordinate freight shipments.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely delivery and pickup of goods.
- Enter data accurately into AS400 and other relevant platforms to maintain up-to-date records.
- Communicate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, demonstrating professional phone etiquette.
- Analyze shipping data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Assist with supply chain coordination, including third-party logistics (3PL) operations.
- Support freight management activities by tracking shipments and resolving any issues that arise during transit.
- Maintain organized documentation related to shipping, receiving, and inventory movements.
Qualifications
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), SyteLine, AS400, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and typing proficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good analysis skills to interpret shipping data and identify operational improvements.
- Knowledge of freight logistics, shipping & receiving processes, and supply chain fundamentals is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
