Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified educator who has years of experience with the senior preschool age group (2.5 - 4) and enjoys working within a Reggio-Emilia inspired environment.
Duties
- Research and provide programming that is age-appropriate, child-led and involves a combination of loose parts and technology.
- Lead classroom activities, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with 3rd party organizations to complete and follow Individual Plans.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior educators and teaching assistants, fostering professional growth.
- Document daily experiences with Lillio (Parent communication app)
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians
- Manage classroom resources efficiently using organizational skills and tablets/iPads
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with early childhood education best practices.
- Demonstrate leadership in managing classroom routines, behavior management strategies, and curriculum planning.
Skills
- Proficiency in English;
- Extensive experience working with children, especially in early childhood education settings, Reggio-Emilia inspired experience an asset;
- Knowledge of CCEYA, special education strategies, and working with individuals with disabilities.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Classroom experience that demonstrates the ability to create engaging lesson plans and manage diverse groups of children. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while working within a supportive team dedicated to educational excellence.
