We're looking for an elite transportation sales professional who understands the flatbed market inside and out and has an established network of shippers requiring specialized transportation solutions.
Position Summary
This is not an entry-level sales role.
We are seeking a proven transportation sales professional with extensive experience selling flatbed transportation services throughout Ontario and North America. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of generating new business, building long-term customer relationships, and managing high-value freight accounts involving steel, construction materials, machinery, oversized freight, manufacturing, and industrial products.
You will own the complete sales cycle—from prospecting through onboarding and long-term account management—while working closely with operations to ensure exceptional service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities within the flatbed transportation market.
- Generate new revenue through prospecting, networking, cold calling, and industry referrals.
- Build relationships with manufacturers, steel companies, construction firms, distributors, industrial suppliers, and freight decision-makers.
- Sell flatbed, step deck, Conestoga, heavy haul, and specialized transportation solutions.
- Manage strategic customer accounts and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Negotiate transportation contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term logistics partnerships.
- Collaborate with dispatch and operations teams to ensure successful service execution.
- Monitor market conditions, lane opportunities, and competitor activity.
- Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline reporting using CRM software.
- Consistently exceed monthly and annual revenue targets.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of transportation sales experience.
- Extensive experience selling flatbed trucking services is mandatory.
- Existing book of business and strong shipper relationships are highly preferred.
- Thorough understanding of flatbed freight, load securement requirements, specialized equipment, and market pricing.
- Experience selling cross-border transportation services is considered a strong asset.
- Proven ability to generate new business rather than simply manage existing accounts.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel throughout Ontario for customer meetings.
