The Med-Health Laboratories Ltd. (MHL) is a community–based laboratory located in North York region of Ontario, serves as an integral component of the health care system. As a member of the Ontario Association of Medical Laboratories (OAML), actively promotes provision of excellent diagnostic laboratory services essential to the health of general public. Collectively, we do our utmost to enhance the well-being of the people in our communities through compassion, excellence and innovation. To work in the OHIP Billing Department of the Laboratory, under general direction from the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor, with minimal supervision, and carry out such functions as typing, billing, recording, record keeping, filing, checking claims for data accuracy, preparing diskettes for OHIP submission, reconciling OHIP payments, submitting Remittance Advice Inquiries to OHIP, assist auditor from the Ministry of Health during audit and all other functions that may be assigned, accurately and reliably, in the shortest time possible.
1. Accept work assignments and perform them with diligence and care.
2. Read, understand and follow all policies as outlined in the “Policy Manual” of this laboratory.
3. Ensure that all OHIP claims are submitted on or before the due date of each month.
4. Alert the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor of any problem or difficulty encountered during the performance of his duties
5. Ensure that all equipment's and supplies used in the department are in good working condition and used properly.
6. Report to work regularly and on time.
7. Keep all the Company’s policies, records, and medical information confidential at all times
