Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in/check-out process with professionalism and efficiency
- Schedule appointments, confirm patient details, and update electronic medical records using systems like RevolutionEHR or similar platforms
- Assist patients with Pretesting and contact lens training
- Collect insurance information, verify coverage, and process payments accurately at the front desk
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking preliminary measurements and documenting relevant medical history
- Support optometrists during eye exams by handling patient flow and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete
- Maintain a clean, organized reception area and ensure all patient records are accurate, confidential, and up-to-date
Experience
- Previous medical office experience preferred, especially in optometry or ophthalmology settings
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye care and general health
- Experience in front desk operations, including scheduling, billing, and insurance processing
- Knowledge of optical products and retail sales techniques is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics
- Enthusiastic team player with a proactive approach to delivering outstanding patient care
