Who the PCC is: The Patient Care Coordinator owns the patient’s first impression of 20/20 Eye Care. From the moment a patient calls to book through the moment they leave, the PCC is the practice’s most visible representative of Comprehensive Compassionate Care — the front-desk owner of communication, scheduling, check-in accuracy, service billing, and the patient relationship over time.
The 8 Core Responsibilities
1. Patient Communication & Service
Main idea: You are the voice and face of the practice. Every patient decides how they feel about us in the first few seconds — with you.
2. Scheduling & Appointment Coordination
Main idea: The schedule is built deliberately, not first-come-first-served — a balanced day keeps the doctor productive and the day calm.
3. Check-In & Optosys Accuracy
Main idea: Accurate contact info and a prepared specialty-screening conversation at the desk are what keep patients reachable and care complete.
4. Insurance, Billing & Payments
Main idea: You own the service money lane. Bill before service, be clear about what the patient owes, and never promise an insurer outcome.
5. Administrative Operations
Main idea: You keep the paperwork, referrals, mail, huddle, and emergency triage moving — owned to completion, not just passed along.
6. Optical Support (Front-Desk Level)
Main idea: You warm-hand-off to the team, and you can carry the optical sale yourself when needed — at the same premium standard.
7. Cleanliness & Environment
Main idea: The front desk is patient-facing real estate. It should always look calm, clean, and professional — never like a back-office workspace.
8. Privacy & PHIPA Compliance
Main idea: Protecting patient information is a legal duty and a trust duty — verify identity, guard the desk, and never over-share.
