Job Summary
We are seeking a bilingual (English and Mandarin) Purchasing Coordinator to join our dynamic supply chain team in Scarborough at Finch and Kennedy. This role involves managing procurement activities, sourcing vendors, and ensuring seamless communication across manufacturing and supply chain departments. The ideal candidate will have experience in sourcing from Canadian and international suppliers, and will play a vital role in optimizing procurement strategies to support production needs. Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement activities by sourcing and selecting reliable vendors aligned with company standards.
- Coordinate accurate order placement and tracking.
- Collaborate with the purchasing team to understand material requirements and develop effective sourcing strategies.
- Monitor pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize costs and ensure timely supply chain operations.
- Monitor inventory levels using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and stay informed about industry trends affecting procurement.
- Prepare procurement documentation, purchase orders, and reports in both English and Mandarin for internal records and supplier communication.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.
Skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain operations.
- Excellent vendor management skills with the ability to negotiate effectively on pricing, delivery, and contractual terms.
- Experience in sourcing strategies, procurement procedures, and cost analysis.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin is required for communication with international vendors and internal teams.
- Strong negotiation skills combined with analytical thinking to optimize purchasing decisions.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices and procurement compliance standards is preferred.
