Pigeon Café is opening in the Old Port, and we're looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen.

What You'll Do
- Lead and oversee all day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Ensure every dish meets our standards for presentation, flavour, and execution.
- Hire, train, mentor, and motivate a high-performing kitchen team.
- Create staff schedules and manage labour costs effectively.
- Oversee inventory, ordering, food costing, and supplier relationships.
- Maintain food cost targets while minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
- Ensure the kitchen operates in full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team environment.
- Collaborate with ownership on seasonal features, menu development, and special events.
- Lead by example during service, providing guidance and support to the team while maintaining a calm, organized kitchen.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, including leadership or Head Chef experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop a team.
- Proven experience with menu development, food costing, inventory management, and labour planning.
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards.
- The ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining exceptional quality and consistency.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A passion for hospitality, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
