About the Position
We are looking for a Building Maintenance Worker to join our team and perform maintenance duties at our residential properties in Cornwall. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of the buildings and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Clean common areas of the buildings using the cleaning products and equipment provided, including vacuum cleaners, brooms, mops, etc. Specifically:
- Clean floors
- Wash windows
- Remove any debris or residue from floors
- Empty garbage bins
- Summer: Maintain the landscaped areas of the properties, including mowing lawns and watering lawns and plants.
- Winter: Remove snow and ice from building entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas. Specifically, shovel, salt/sand, and ensure safe access to the properties.
- Perform minor repair and maintenance work within the buildings.
- Carry out emergency maintenance and repair work when required.
- Record any maintenance or cleaning requests received from building occupants and communicate them to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in building maintenance, cleaning, or a similar position.
- Education: High school diploma is an asset.
- Knowledge of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Reliable, independent, and detail-oriented.
- Versatile and comfortable working on-site and responding to maintenance needs as required.
