Professional Flat Deck Driver/Yard Position-Kamloops BC & Surrounding Areas
We have an immediate position available that would be ideally suited for a professional driver who has strong experience operating an open, commercial flat deck truck and trailer in all weather conditions.

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a full-time driver for deliveries of civil pipe materials, plastic septic tanks and wastewater products, as well as Agriculture Irrigation systems. Our delivery truck is a 1 ton, Chevrolet 3500 Diesel flat deck pulling a 26-foot king pin style goose neck commercial trailer. It is equipped with custom pipe racks for safe transportation of overhead loads of HDPE and civil pipe.
Our deliveries and pickups are a combination of local Kamloops area, Merritt and Nicola Valley, Thompson Okanagan region, as well as picking up large stock orders from Vancouver and Fraser Valley area suppliers.
Candidates MUST have a clean driver abstract, have proven experience using safe, CVSC compliant, strapping techniques as well as the use of crates for securing loads on open flat decks. Candidates must have strong forklift and material handling skills for safe loading, offloading, and assisting our warehouse teams with additional work in the Kamloops yard.
Employment Duties and Responsibilities - Professional Driver/Material handling Position
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Core Driving & Delivery Duties
- Load and unload our flat deck orders safely and accurately using lift trucks.
- Transport materials to customers’ job sites in a safe and timely manner.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently, using GPS or route planning software.
- Inspect the delivery vehicle and trailer daily for any mechanical issues/report all
- Maintain daily logbook of inspections of truck and delivery trailer without fail
- Maintain strong, internal paperwork for deliveries with customers
- Report delivery outcomes or any issues back to the Logistics Manager/supervisor.
- Report to scales, brake checks, and abide by all commercial drivers’ standards.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance of vehicle, weekly washes and interior.
Customer Interaction
- Communicate well with customers for successful outcomes on deliveries.
- Obtain signatures for proof of delivery, pictures, as requested by branch.
- Notify customers of departure times, ETA, and obtain arrival instructions.
Yard & Product Handling & Inventory
- Help Warehouse team maintain and organize the yard with material handlers.
- Help offload deliveries from other transport companies
- Store and safely place yard inventory in locations chosen in yard.
- Help prepare and load customer orders
- Assist with warehouse tasks when not on delivery runs
- Report damaged or missing items upon delivery or during load checks.
- Assist team with operating Bobcat for snow removal of parking/yard after snowfalls during winter months.
- Will be working outdoors with the team in all BC weather conditions.
Safety and Equipment
- Be familiar with Department of Transport CVSC legal deck strapping requirements for safe hauling of goods on both truck deck and trailer deck.
- Proper use of forklift equipment and material handlers for loading and unloading.
- Adhere to Delta Water Products WorkSafe safety procedures at all work sites.

Schedule: Day shift Monday to Friday 7 am-3:30 pm with OT hours required
Experience: Commercial driving: Min 3 years (Preferred)
Class 1 or Class 3 BC Drivers Licence.
Forklift and Lift truck skills and experience.
Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
