We are currently looking for an ambitious Accountant to join our entrepreneurial team. This position will assist in ensuring the financial health of the company, and its related affiliates, partnerships and ventures. Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on all financial and accounting concerns and obligations of the Company as required, ensuring the information is reported in an accurate, timely, informative and cost-effective manner. This includes tracking revenues from gaming activities, reconciling daily casino transactions, and assisting with tax reporting. You will ensure the business meets strict gaming commissions and regulatory standards, while assisting accounts payable function, and coordinating with auditors. Being a strong team player with the ability to use initiative to solve problems and implement solutions while working in a small “hands on” company environment will be the key to your success. You must be able to handle multiple tasks and duties, as you manage different projects simultaneously, while meeting required deadlines in a consistent manner. Along with your day-to-day duties, you may also be assigned other tasks to assist in the achievement of the overall team goals and objectives.
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in accounting
- 3+ years proven experience, in a fast-paced work environment
- Experience working with financial and audit systems; knowledge of gaming management software a plus
- Solid computer skills in Excel, and MS Office, experience with Yardi and/or Workiva, would be considered an asset
- An excellent systematic thinker who pays keen attention to the details, and sees the overall picture
- Ability to work well under pressure while meeting daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly deadlines
- Strong time management skills with a strong work ethic and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
- Have a “can do” attitude possessing the drive, determination and commitment to producing results
