Position Overview: Multi-Vehicle Professional Driver We are looking for a versatile, highly skilled professional driver to join our team. This is not your average delivery role; we need someone capable of whatever the day demands—whether that is a 5-ton (airbrakes), a 1 ton pickup and 30’ trailer (class 3), or a cargo van. You will be the face of Bullwhip Logistics, representing our company with professionalism, accountability and pride.
Key Responsibilities
- Versatile Fleet Operation: Safely operate 5-ton trucks, cargo vans, and pickup trucks with 30’ trailer.
- Freight & Parcel Delivery: Efficiently deliver a wide range of goods, from packages to pallets, construction materials and loading equipment within Winnipeg and Manitoba.
- Towing & Maneuvering: Confidently navigate urban and rural environments while towing a trailer, including backing into tight loading docks or residential areas.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and ensure all assigned vehicles (vans or trucks) remain clean, organized, and professionally maintained.
- Customer Excellence: Provide friendly, professional service to all shippers and consignees, maintaining our reputation for professionalism and reliability.
- Strategic Communication: Work closely with the dispatch and support team to manage route adjustments, load security, and delivery timelines.
Qualifications
- License Requirements: Valid Class 3 with air endorsement.
- Trailer Experience: Professional experience operating a truck and trailer combination is required.
- Straight Truck Experience: Demonstrated history of safely driving 5-ton trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
- Reliability: A solid history of punctuality and consistency in previous delivery or logistics roles.
- Physical Capability: Must be comfortable handling heavy items (frequently exceeding 50 lbs) and proficient in using dollies, pallet jacks, and strap-down procedures for securing freight.
- Adaptability: Ability to switch between different vehicle types and route styles (fixed mail routes vs. heavy freight deliveries) as needed.
- Professionalism: Must be courteous, considerate, respectful, and communicate in a professional manner.
