Union East + Drinks a seeking a motivated and dynamic Concessions Manager for its Gander gastropub and bar.
Union East aims to capture people’s hearts and stomachs with celebrated, fresh, local food and drink. We want to make our guests happy and make a profit doing so.
The position will also oversee a wide range of concession services offered through Union East such as catering and special event planning.
At its simplest, our manager ensures a:

The Manager will oversee all facets of the Union East + Drinks and Gander Goods daily operation staffing, scheduling, recruiting and performance management for a team of 12-20 employees. Culture is important. If our staff aren’t happy, our guests won’t be either.
As the forward face of the brand, the Manager will be the restaurant’s champion in the community, working to ensure the satisfaction of our guests and our illuminate our brand. The successful candidate will need to be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Ideally, the successful applicant will have experience in the food & beverage industry with strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills.
Requirements
- 1+ years previous experience leading a full-service restaurant, bar or as a hospitality manager
- Familiarity with restaurant management software
- An energetic and capable leader, motivator and developer of talent
- A love of food and drink
- Highly organized with excellent planning and administrative skills
- Well versed in local marketing skills and event management
- Experience in event planning and catering would be an asset
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration or hospitality management is a plus
Responsibilities
· Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure food quality and customer-service standards
· Implements the restaurant’s policies, procedures and marketing plan while ensuring the restaurant complies with all regulations
· Foster working relationships with local vendors and users
· Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
· Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
· Work with the social media and event planning teams to grow the business
· Manage catering responsibilities and special events
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
