Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our bustling food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation and safety, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing food quality, and ensuring compliance with health standards to create a positive dining experience for all guests. Prior restaurant management or hospitality experience is highly valued, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS. The Food Service Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining efficient operations and fostering a team-oriented atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily food service operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality service
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet established standards
- Manage cash handling and POS transactions accurately using Micros POS or similar systems
- Lead, train, and motivate team members to deliver excellent customer service
- Interview and onboard new staff members, providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Monitor kitchen and dining area cleanliness, sanitation, and safety protocols
- Collaborate with restaurant management to optimize service efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to resolve issues promptly
- Assist in inventory management, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs
Skills
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant management, or hospitality roles
- Strong leadership and team management abilities with supervisory experience
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
- Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience operating POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Effective communication skills for interviewing, training, and team coordination
- Knowledge of kitchen operations including food handling and sanitation practices
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive work environment
- Familiarity with restaurant or hotel experience is preferred; barista experience is a plus
