Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for operating a variety of equipment to support landscape construction and property maintenance projects. The ideal candidate has experience with grading, excavation, and site preparation, and takes pride in safe and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, and other machinery
- Perform grading, trenching, excavation, and site preparation work
- Assist with landscape construction projects including hardscape and softscape installation
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Load and transport materials as required
- Work closely with foremen and crew members to complete projects on schedule
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company standards
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment (skid steer, excavator, etc.) required
- Strong understanding of grading and site preparation
- Ability to read site plans and follow directions
- Valid driver’s license required (Class 3 or higher is an asset)
- Experience in landscaping or construction is an asset
- Ability to work long hours outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
