The Role
We are seeking an Intermediate Piping Designer to join our Mechanical, Process, and Piping (MPP) team. The successful candidate will work to develop high-quality piping designs for industrial, manufacturing, energy, and infrastructure projects. You’ll collaborate with a multi-disciplined team to design dependable solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop detailed 3D piping models.
· Produce piping layouts, plans, sections, isometrics, and fabrication drawings.
· Prepare piping general arrangement drawings and equipment layouts.
· Assist with piping material specifications and bill of materials.
· Coordinate piping designs with structural, mechanical, civil, electrical, and process disciplines.
· Participate in model reviews and design coordination meetings.
· Perform site visits to collect field measurements and verify existing conditions.
· Incorporate red-line markups and maintain drawing revisions.
· Support construction, commissioning, and field engineering activities as required.
· Ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes, client standards, and company drafting standards.
What You Bring
Eligibility to Work in Canada:
· This position is based in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
· Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents currently residing in Canada with legal authorization to work.
· Paragon is not offering immigration sponsorship for this position. Applicants requiring current or future sponsorship will not be considered.
· Preference will be given to candidates with Canadian industrial design experience.
Education & Certification:
· Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Engineering Design, or a related discipline.
· Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with APEGNB.
Experience & Skills:
· 5-10 years in an industrial consulting or design environment.
· Strong project coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
· Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
· Able to work independently and as a leader within a multidisciplinary team.
· Previous experience in Pulp & Paper and industrial piping is an asset.
· Valid driver’s license for site visits.
